How much does a mezzanine floor cost? - There are no guildlines to costs as the price will depend on the size of your mezzanine. Many factors contribute such as loadings, floor heights, area and accessories required.

Do I have to apply for building approval for a mezzanine? - Yes. Building approval from your local authority is required for 98% of mezzanine floors. Alternatively we can handle the approval by submitting it to our approved inspectors. Please ask if you wish us to do so.

What are your lead times and how long does it take to complete? - This depends on the size and type of your floor. A standard size mezzanine floor can be completed within 4 weeks from receiving your order.

Are mezzanine floors standardised? - No. There are no restrictions on size, shape or height of your mezzanine. Our floors can be made to measure and can also come in multiple tiers.

Can you provide access and edge protection - AC Mezz can offer a variety of accessories for your mezzanine such as staircases, handrailing and pallet gates.

Who handles the delivery and installation of the mezzanine? - We have a fleet of HGV's that can deliver your floor and the installation can be carried out by one of our exprienced steel erection teams. The erection team will also off-load the goods safely and store in a designated area.

How about I need to change the design? - Changing the design less than 2 weeks before installation may cause delays. You will be assigned a project manager from our exprienced team who can handle any issues or questions you may have.

Floor Loadings - The overall load on the mezzanine floor in either KN/m2 (kilonewtons) or in KG/m2 (kilograms). If you have any point loads i.e. heavy machinery, please advise sizes and weights. Please see standard loadings below:

4.8KN/m2 - Storage | 7.2KN/m2 - Medium Duty Storage | 9.6KN/m2 - Heavy Duty Storage | 4.0Kn/m2 - Office & Retail

Dimensions - We will need the overall length and width of the mezzanine you require, in meters or feet. If you need any cut outs or add ons i.e. loading bays please state these as well

Column Stanchions - The mezzanine will be supported by mild steel box section columns. If possible, please advise your maximum number of column legs, if not we will quote the most economical grid avaliable

Floor Height - Please state either the overall height of the mezzanine or your required clearance underneath the floor

Decking Finish - We offer a range of decking types to finish your floor. Please ask whether you require a standard chipboard finish, a non-slip mild steel cheque plate or an open steel grating/mesh

Edge Protection - Please state if you have any open edges that require a handrail balustrade to protect from falls. Click here for details on handrail balustrades
